In the Rooms is an interactive sketch series that draws inspiration from the experiences of life during the pandemic. The series uses blockchain technology and NFT ownership behaviors to create interactive engagement.
The series includes four pieces: Working, Living, Cooking, and Sleeping. Each piece features interactive lights that can be turned on/off by clicking with a mouse. Additionally, each piece has been minted into an NFT on the Hicetnunc platform (now known as Teia). When you own other room NFTs, extra objects appear within each room.
For instance, in the Working room, only items related to "work" are present. However, if you own the Living room NFT while viewing the artwork, objects symbolizing "entertainment and relaxation," such as a video game controller and game posters, will appear. Similarly, owning the Kitchen NFT will introduce a coffee mug.
Before the pandemic, our lives followed an organized routine as we moved between different locations and engaged in various activities: work, leisure, education, and entertainment. However, during the lockdown period of the pandemic, we were compelled to carry out all activities at home, blurring the boundaries between rooms. The four rooms in this series represent different facets of life, and the appearance of objects from "other rooms" through the NFT interaction mechanism symbolizes the chaos and overlap of life during the pandemic.
